Flag Raising Ceremony at WPJH

West Point Junior High Student Body Officers proudly hosted a moving Veterans Day Flag Raising Ceremony to honor those who have served our country. Local veterans Don Staker, who served in the National Guard’s First Battalion 145th Field Artillery; Reed Chambers, a Navy veteran who was stationed in Kosovo, Washington D.C., and Tennessee; Mike Chambers, a civilian working on base; and Ruck Lessey, who served in Desert Storm, joined the students to raise the flags in a powerful display of patriotism. The West Point Junior High Band stirred hearts with their performance of The Star-Spangled Banner as the crowd stood in respectful silence, reflecting with gratitude on the men and women who have courageously defended our freedoms.
