Here at West Point Junior High, we have an amazing math department. One of our terrific teachers is Mrs. Thornock, and her students think so too! They said that she is great at explaining concepts, helping with confusing equations, and answering their questions when they don’t understand. When Mrs. Thornock was asked about why she became a math teacher, she said, “I tutored math in college, and I had a great high school algebra teacher and that’s why I fell in love with it.” Her favorite parts of class are interacting with her students and when they get an “ah-ha” moment after not understanding a concept. Mrs. Thornock’s classroom is decorated with notes from her students telling her how much they adore her, and we know why! It’s clear to see that she’s an extraordinary math teacher!
